The highlight of this section is the Barn Owl depicted in 'Night owl', a large scale oil on canvas making extensive use of 23 carat gold leaf to portray the abundance of the natural earth in a supremely rich backlight. The owl is supported by, and in balance with this abundance.

'Purple night' seems to have the power to draw one instantly back to the memory of that idyllic sunset, where the soft robes of the night descended silently over the forest, leaving only the golden light to silhouette the branches.

The 'Garden angel' is a more contemporary work inspired by a garden sculpture, and brings an unexpected austerity to the grey scene through which she moves.
In contrast the 'Golden angel' seems to be quietly musing.
